Who We Are

The Southwest Chapter of the American Musicological Society is a group of scholars, performers, and composers in the Southwest region of the United States. Our website provides information about upcoming meetings, news for and about our members, and general information of interest to the membership.

The American Musicological Society

We are part of the American Musicological Society, a national organization founded in 1934 to advance research in the various fields of music as a branch of learning and scholarship.  Find out more about the fifteen AMS chapters  by following the link. The names and contact information of chapter officers can be found  in the AMS Directory.

Chapter Meetings

The AMS-SW Chapter meets on a biannual basis to share research and support the study of musicology and its related fields. Information on past and forthcoming meetings, including calls for presentations and programs, can be found on our Meetings pages.

Publications

The American Musicological Society Southwest Chapter Conference Proceedings is the online publication of selected papers and poster abstracts presented at our fall and spring meetings. See the Proceedings page to find out more about the research activities of our members.
