CALL FOR PROPOSALS

The AMS-SW Chapter is pleased to announce its Fall 2017 meeting (October 7, 2017). Hosted by Texas Tech University, the meeting will feature a diverse program, including papers, posters, panel discussions, and performances. AMS-SW invites all music scholars to submit proposals. All papers and posters selected for presentation at the meeting are considered for inclusion in the AMS-SW Chapter Proceedings.

AMS-SW encourages participation by graduate student presenters, from both within and beyond the specific bounds of university musicology programs. Students are required to confirm, in their submission, the proposal’s review by a mentoring faculty member; a brief e-mail by that faculty member to the Secretary-Treasurer (km30@txstate.edu) is sufficient.

AMS-SW likewise welcomes and encourages co-authored or team presentations as well as any kind of collaboration, such as faculty / student (undergraduate or graduate) collaborations.

Since paper slots are very limited, poster proposals are strongly encouraged, but are expected to be specifically designed for that medium and to reflect technical and content quality suitable for inclusion in the Proceedings, as are read papers.

Proposals should be sent to Dr. Kevin Mooney, AMS-SW Secretary-Treasurer: km30@txstate.edu. PROPOSALS MUST ARRIVE BY August 10, 2017 (midnight CST).

Registration, travel, accommodation information, and a preliminary program will be sent to the AMS-SW Yahoo E-mail Group (subscribe by sending an e-mail to ams-sw-subscribe@yahoogroups.com) and posted on our website and Facebook page.
