Membership in the AMS-Southwest Chapter is separate from membership with the national American Musicological Society. You may be a member of the Chapter without being a member of the national organization. Membership dues for AMS-SW are collected online through the central office of the American Musicological Society. As of 2021, the rate is $10 for general membership and $5 for student membership. Membership lasts for the duration of each calendar year.
In accordance with AMS bylaws, presenters at AMS-SW Chapter meetings are required to hold membership in both the AMS-SW Chapter and in AMS.
AMS-SW membership is not required to attend chapter meetings and other events.
